If you are reading this, you
probably love swimming as much as we do and
you are looking for more opportunites to keep swimming through the
year. USA swimming might be what you need and the East Bay Bat Rays
(EBAT) swim team is a year-round team wants swimmers just like you
to join. EBAT is a relatively new swim team to the area that
began in October, 1999. We are a non-profit organization that
is dedicated to fun, learning, sportsmanship, competition,
commitment, family, and friendships, as well as bringing swimming
to a higher level in this community. Becoming a member of
EBAT makes you a member of United States Swimming, the national
governing body of the sport in the U.S. Your U.S. Swimming
membership provides you with insurance coverage, the opportunity to
swim in first-rate swimming competition and a free subscription to
Splash!, the membership newsletter. EBAT is one of
over 2,600 programs nationwide. We currently have 70 swimmers
on the team, ranging from 5 yrs. old to college age. We swim
year around at Cal State East Bay.
Many successful swimmers got their
start from summer league programs such as the ones in the East Bay
Swim League (EBSL). The EBSL is great at introducing the
sport of swimming to young athletes, and it also helps the
transition into high school swimming. However, these teams
are limited in the number of events offered to swim as well as the
length of the season. The short events and the short season are
sometimes not enough for those who want more out of swimming.
Some may wish to compete at a higher level by the time they start
high school, or they are looking ahead to college competition, with
possible scholarships to strive for.
The East
Bay Bat Rays Swim Team can offer personal success to everyone who
joins. Whether you are joining this team because you are
seriously dedicated to this sport and want to shoot for the stars
or if you think you might want to just try it in the fall to
enhance your summer league or high school performance, we have a
lane for you.
