instructions)
Who should attend this
meet? This
meet is limited to those swimmers who have achieved the qualifying
“PC-B” Time Standard by March 4, 2010, using the 2010
Pacific Swimming time standards. Coach verified times will NOT be
accepted for this meet.
Swim Gear
Please bring extra towels and clothes. The mornings will be cold
so the kids will appreciate having extra dry towels after
their morning warm up and after each event. Please have extra
warm clothes and warm boots or shoes. It will be too cold to
wear sandals all day. Remember, a happy swimmer is not a cold
or freezing swimmer. Also, you will not have to fork out
extra money at the swim shop to buy clothes or
towels. Also have your swimmer double check their gear
before you leave home. Again, you will not have to rush home
to get the missing gear and/or have to purchase new
gear.
Potluck
We will have a morning potluck on Saturday and Sunday so please
bring healthy food items to share. Do not bring junk
food. i.e. donuts, candies, sugar snacks, etc.... If
you bring them, do not share them until after the
meet.
LANE LINE TIMING SIGN UPS
The EBAT lane line timing sign up sheet will be made
available in the morning for each day of the meet. There are no
advance sign-ups because kids do get sick the day of the
meet, then we are scrambling for timers to take those emptly
slots. When you get to the meet and are all settled in,
it is your responsibility to sign up for timing. If you
know your child is swimming later in the day please sign up for a
later timing shift. If you know your child will be swiiming only
one on two of the early events please sign up for an early
shift.
REMEMBER, it is mandatory for all families to
time. For those families who don’t attend the meet,
but do send their child to the meet, it is your responsibility to
have someone time for your child during the day they compete
at the meet. You can ask one of your fellow families,
friends, or relatives to time for your child. AGAIN, you
will need to make arrangements for someone to time for your child
if you do not attend the meet yourself. Creative things done in the
past, hire someone to time for you ($10.00 an hour sounds about
right). Ask fellow team families to cover for you and then you can
return the same at the next meet. Ask one of your family members or
friends to come support your child by coming to the meet to watch
them and to time for them.
Canopies: We will also need several parents to
help transport our teams 6 canopies and canopy sides to the
meet. If you are able to help transport canopies and sides,
please pick one up by Thursday or Friday during practice. Please
try you best to help out with transporting our team
canopies as it is not fair for the same parents to take the
canopies to and from the meet every swim meet. We should be sharing
the task of transporting, setting up, and taking down the
canopies as we all use them. Even if you volunteer do it 2 or
3 times a year, it is a huge help. If you feel you cannot
physically carry the canopy, don’t worry, we have swimmers
and parents who can transport the canopy to and from your
vehicle. For those parents who own their own canopies, please
bring them to the meet.
